From a family heritage to a friend's business
A family heritage of the last century

The Baron family has been known for a century for its “savoir-faire” in textile and shirt making in France.

Charles Baron grew up watching his father work as a shirt designer and manufacturer for the most exquisite Italian and French brands.

French in the City - Apr 2009

Early 2009, after spending several years in the world of Finance, Charles and his brother-in-law Tristan, decided that trading was over, and fashion was in.

The Monsieur BARON Label was launched with one core idea in mind: revive the family heritage and translate it into modern trends and lifestyle.

Our first corporate sale - May 2009

Monsieur BARON is born from a simple idea: to provide stylish and superior quality shirts in a way that is convenient and effortless for men. We took the decision to innovate regarding distribution, because, like our customers, we were businessmen and knew how painful it can be to shop when you have no time to spare.

Therefore we have created our unique Corporate Sales Service: regular private sales and personalised services for the employees of major companies in London.

Shortly after launching our first collection, we organized a first test sale in Société Générale. We sold 75 shirts in a few hours, the sale was a real success and our concept was launched.

From a family business to a Friend's Business - Dec 2009 to February 2010

Having left his career in strategic consulting Remy Sicot, a childhood friend, was exploring the high summits of the Patagonian Cordillera when he was first contacted by Charles who was looking for an additional partner to collaborate in the project. A week - and a few Skype calls - later, Remy joined the Monsieur BARON board, with the aim of developing and managing the company together with his friend.

3 months later the project moved onto another stage with its first fundraising. 34 young businessmen, all close friends based in Paris and London, became the first Monsieur BARON shareholders and the brand-privileged ambassadors. Coming from various backgrounds and communities but sharing a common interest in fashion, they symbolise the brand’s roots and have since then been actively involved in the brand emergence.

OUR STORY - THE DEVELOPMENT
2011 the year of development
Beginning 2011 - A close relationship with more than 100 companies in the city

During the course of the year, Monsieur BARON successfully developed a close relationship with more than 100 Corporate clients, including the biggest investment banks and law firms. And we were now ready to move to the next steps.

The development – our distribution network

In May 2011, we launched our Showroom in Hatton Garden. Located in the heart of London, the showroom became quickly the epicenter of the company, where both the brand and our sales concepts are developed. Four months later, was the beginning of our private events: series of events around shirts, French wine and networking organized at our showroom for our clients, journalists and key partners.
In July 2011, we launched our personal shopping service. Our professional clothiers are now available 6 days a week to present the collections to our VIP customers, take their measurements, set up any desired fit adjustments and assist in styling their wardrobe. Our VIPs don’t move from their desk, we come to them and take care of everything.
Our model was reinforced, with the launch of our website in October 2011. Both an ecommerce website and a platform for the brand: the website is meant to become central in Monsieur BARON future development.

The development - the launch of our Black Label

Launch in July, the “Black Label” range intends to reflect the true essential of the brand: we’ve used only the finest and noblest materials, and our new “Black Label Tailored fit” has been carefully developed to provide every man with a trendy modern style while not compromising on comfort. Founded by an ex-City trader coming from a French family with one century of experience in shirt making, Monsieur BARON was born from a simple idea: to provide stylish and superior quality shirts in a way that is personalised, convenient and effortless for men.
We have created our distribution concept, because, like our customers, we are businessmen and we know how painful it can be to shop when you have no time to spend.

A consistent and unique set of shopping options

Non-traditional distribution networks are our philosophy of development as we are challenging the cost efficiency, the convenience and the quality of conventional retail models. We apply one core idea: our customers don’t move from their desk, we take care of everything.
A. A new customer based in London looking to experience our products and fit for the first time has access to our corporate sales or personal fitting services. One of our professional clothiers can come directly to his office or home to present the collections, take his measurements, set up any desired fit adjustment and assist in styling his wardrobe.
B. A returning customer could order via our website, phone or email and our dedicated Customer Service and professional clothiers are always available to provide help and advice.
C. In addition, we are always pleased to welcome our customers at our showroom with one glass of French wine and we regularly organise events to present the new collections in exclusivity.
D. Customers from anywhere else could receive personalised advice from our customer service or clothiers and enjoy our amazing returning policy.

Our collection: promoting values of elegance & style ‘à la Française’

Monsieur BARON mixes inspirations from Paris to London, from business to fashion, from classic elegance to modern style. We believe that:
1. Everything starts with the materials you select. All the Black Label fabrics demonstrate our commitment to offer a luxury and unique product. Our collection plays on mixing various colours, textures, and shines.
2. Elegance is in simplicity. From plain shirts to very fine checks or colourful large stripes, classic is no longer old fashioned! Our collection encompasses a range of timeless classics that we intend to translate into today’s styles thanks to our contemporary fits.
3. Style is in the detail. Our shirts contain details that no one but our customers can really see: some subtle contrasted colours in the inside of cuffs and collars, convertible cuffs, our unique Labels, and many more to be discovered.
4. Our shirts have something very French: the choice of fabrics, the French placket and our signature collar are a few illustrations. The names of the Black Label collection thus celebrate French culture through contemporary and illustrious artists, poets, businessmen and wines. Monsieur BARON loves London but will never forget its French inspirations, values and roots.

Using the finest and noblest materials

We promote the values of expertise and quality with an obsession for details acquired by hundred years of experience in shirt making.
All our Black Label shirts are made with 100% Extra Long Staple Egyptian cotton, finest double-ply fabrics and mother-of-pearl buttons. All of our suppliers have more than half a century’s experience.

Our contemporary fit ensures an impeccable and elegant look while not compromising on all-day comfort and illustrates the brand’s ambitions to offer classic and elegant products more adapted to the silhouettes and styles of today’s man.
Our Black Label shirts follow the trends of the most famous designer brands: smaller collar, tighter fit, attention to every detail, contrasts on cuffs and collars, white collars…but do not forget the compulsory features of dress shirts: sober, smart and elegant.
